Murtala Mohammed Airport Terminal 2 (MMA2) is set to enhance its customer service with the introduction of a fully cashless payment system at its multi-storey car park, effective Monday, March 23. This strategic shift is designed to streamline the parking process, offering travelers and visitors a faster and more convenient experience as they navigate the terminal.

To facilitate a smooth transition, the airport management has outlined a phased approach. Initially, cash payments will only be accommodated at the rooftop level of the car park. All other levels will exclusively accept electronic payments via debit/credit cards or transfers through Point-of-Sale (POS) terminals. This move is a key component of MMA2’s ongoing modernization program, aimed at boosting operational efficiency and elevating overall customer satisfaction. The management has also indicated that additional payment options are in development and will be rolled out in the coming months to further improve convenience.

This initiative at the privately managed MMA2 follows broader national trends in aviation infrastructure modernization. It comes after the earlier rollout of cashless systems at FAAN-managed airports and subsequent regulatory adjustments, such as the directive for a hybrid payment model to ease congestion, which highlights the sector’s dynamic evolution.
