The Nigerian Air Force has officially announced the commencement date for training of successful applicants to its Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC) Course 34/2025. In a formal statement released by Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, Director of Public Relations and Information, the service confirmed that training will begin on April 18, 2026.

This development follows the conclusion of the Selection Board Interview phase, which was held at the NAF Base in Kaduna between January 12 and February 8, 2026. The names of all shortlisted candidates have been published on the official NAF recruitment portal, where individuals can verify their status and obtain detailed reporting instructions.

The statement emphasized that the six-month training program is a mandatory requirement for all selected candidates prior to their commissioning as officers. The Nigerian Air Force also outlined specific reporting conditions tied to the offer of admission into this critical training programme. The final list of candidates was published on April 4, 2026, marking a definitive transition into the training phase of the recruitment exercise.

This initiative is part of a broader, coordinated effort to enhance national security capacity. Similar expansions in personnel were seen when over 7,000 forest guards graduated in December 2025, and the Nigerian Navy inducted 1,962 ratings in the same period. These concerted recruitment and training efforts reflect a strategic push to bolster Nigeria’s security architecture. Such institutional strengthening is vital for fostering a stable environment conducive to growth in every sector, from the bustling Nigerian Marketplace to major infrastructure projects.

While this military expansion continues, other sectors are also advancing. In finance, for instance, Flutterwave Secures Banking licenses to deepen its services, and in governance, agencies like Lascopa Recovers N860 million in public funds, demonstrating a multifaceted approach to national development. The focus on internal security and institutional integrity remains a constant priority, ensuring a foundation for progress across the nation.
