Dr. Solomon Ojeagbase, Executive Director of Complete Communications Limited (CCL)—publisher of Complete Sports and manager of the company’s Online and Digital Marketing Divisions—has been appointed as a United Nations Representative to the Africana Women Working Group (AWWG) at the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) for the 2026 term.
The appointment, formalized in an official letter signed by Professor Ada Okika, UN Chief Representative and Coordinator of the Africana Women Working Group, authorizes Dr. Ojeagbase to represent the organization at UN Headquarters in New York. He will participate in a range of global policy and development engagements throughout the year, contributing to discussions that shape international agendas.
According to the letter, the Africana Women Working Group recognized Dr. Ojeagbase’s demonstrated commitment to diplomatic education, advocacy, and international participation—particularly in initiatives that advance the welfare and empowerment of women and girls. The organization noted that his leadership, integrity, expertise, and dedication to inclusive development align closely with the mission and values of the AWWG, as well as the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), tourism and heritage development, and the broader objectives of the United Nations Charter.
As a UN Representative, Dr. Ojeagbase is authorized to represent the ECOSOC-affiliated NGO and the Africana Women Working Group at UN Headquarters and related global forums. His responsibilities will include participating in major UN programmes and events such as the ECOSOC Youth Forum, the Commission on the Status of Women, the Commission on Social Development, the Commission on Population and Development, the High-Level Political Forum, UN tourism-related engagements, and General Assembly side events.
He will also contribute to policy discussions, statements, and reports on behalf of the organization while promoting the principles of equity, dignity, and justice for Africana women and girls worldwide. The appointment further provides opportunities for organizations working in partnership with the ECOSOC NGO and the AWWG to organize parallel or side events during relevant UN sessions. Through the ECOSOC platform, participating organizations can apply to host such events, creating avenues for greater international visibility and engagement on development issues.
Meanwhile, discussions around national governance and fiscal priorities continue to draw attention. The allocation of funds, including reports that Tinubu and Shettima to spend N11 billion on official activities, has sparked debate among analysts and citizens. Similarly, developments at Bauchi Federal Poly have generated public discourse, while reactions trail Nnamdi Kanu’s legal proceedings. Questions persist over whether Is Bola Tinubu’s administration is meeting expectations on economic reforms, and Atiku says 2025 will be a critical year for Nigeria’s democratic and developmental trajectory. These issues underscore the broader context in which international appointments like Dr. Ojeagbase’s contribute to global advocacy and sustainable development goals.
