Monaco has signed French striker Wissam Ben Yedder from Sevilla on a five-year contract with Portugal midfielder Rony Lopes moving in the opposite direction.
Both clubs made the announcement on Wednesday, August 14, 2019.
The financial details of the deal were not disclosed but French media reported that Monaco paid Sevilla £37m to activate 29-year-old France international Ben Yedder’s release clause.
Ben Yedder who joined Sevilla in July 2016, scored 70 goals in three seasons at the La Liga club. He will partner Super Eagles striker, Henry Onyekuru at the French club.
“I am very happy to be involved with AS Monaco,’ he told the club website. ‘I chose Monaco because I believe in this project and I am determined to do everything possible to go after our common ambitions.’
